Australian Jow Ga Kung Fu Academy, Sydney

The Australian Jow Ga Kung Fu Academy's Grandmaster is SiGung Randy Sullivan Bennett. SiGung Bennett is an elite athlete and martial artist with 38 years of full-time Kung Fu training and teaching experience. Upon his arrival in 1982 SiGung established the first Jow Ga Kung Fu Kwoon in Australia and has led our full-time Academy ever since. SiGung has been continuously active in the martial arts world devoting his life to Jow Ga Kung Fu - he practices rigorously and meditates every day.

SiGung began his training in Jow Ga Kung Fu in 1973 under Master Chin Yuk Din in the USA. He immediately commenced intensive training, then began teaching Jow Ga under the guidance of Master Chin in Washington DC and his interstate Jow Ga branches. SiGung Bennett then spent almost 3 years sequestered as a monk during which time he devoted his life to community service, meditation and extensive practice of Jow Ga Kung Fu.

In his role as Dai SiGung Chin's chosen disciple SiGung Bennett took on the responsibility of keeping and passing on Jow Ga for his lifetime. After choosing to spread Jow Ga to the shores of Australia en route in Hong Kong SiGung Bennett also received certification from Jow Ga's Grand Master Chan Man Cheung.

In the early 1980's SiGung spent many months in the Republic of China intensively studying and practicing Chang Chuan (Long Fist) and Chang Chuan Tanglang (Northern Praying Mantis) under Grandmaster Gao Daosheng. During the late 80's and early 90's he began training in the dynamic international performance art of Wushu with the assistance of international Wushu Heros such Shao Zhao Ming and Chang Xing. Due to Grandmaster Bennett's background in Northern Kung Fu styles Australian Jow Ga Kung Fu students can benefit from the influence and integration of these longer range practices along with our traditional Shaolin Jow Ga system.

In August 2011 SiGung's disciple Joshua Smith became Sifu Josh Smith after 10 years of intensive training under SiGung. Students at Australian Jow Ga now enjoy training under a Jow Ga Master and Grandmaster!

In addition to teaching at the Australian Jow Ga Kung Fu Academy, SiGung teaches corporate groups, members of the NSW and Federal Police Department, and has taught martial moves to a number of Australian dance companies and for the Department of Education. He has done extensive work with public and private schools both within school sports programs and extracurricular sport. SiGung is well known and respected within international, national and local communities and is regularly featured across a variety of publications. SiGung Bennett and Sifu Josh Smith along with our Jow Ga Demo Teams are in high demand for their spectacular martial displays and are frequently seen performing and promoting Jow Ga across Sydney and interstate.
