It’s long overdue but here it is. You're looking at it..... our new site release. Thanks to the collaborative efforts
of Sifu Bennett and Simo Victoria Milton and the artistic design expertise of Katie Shannon we've finally overhauled
one of the longest running Jow Ga Kung Fu sites in existence. We hope you like the new Jow Ga site. Narrowing down
the content and images from Sifu's massive resources of 35 years centred on Jow Ga and kung fu in general was a feat
in itself!
The old faithful was based on Sifu's 'Australian Jow Ga Kung Fu Academy' paper brochure designed and written by Sifu
and Simo around 1990. It was transformed for the web 9 years ago chiefly by our Jow Ga instructor Jeremy Nysen and Si Je Natalie Nysen. For
Jow Ga memorabilia fanatics the old site content can still be viewed at http://www.jowga.com.au/old/

Just one special event for our 25th Anniversary this was an evening of food, film and fun for our Jow Ga Families.
Cuisine from all over the world by some the best chefs in Sydney - our Jow Ga Family. The dessert table was
unbelievable.
Sifu presented Si Jia Katrina Douglas with her Black Belt and Si Heng John Callaghan with his BB 4th Din.
Congratulations to you both - we know how hard Sifu makes you work for those!

I returned to Hong Kong for this anniversary of our founding father's passing. My own lineage of course comes from the
Jow Biu (or Chau Biu) line, so it was great to be back with Jow Ga Family to share our kung fu with one another and
celebrate our founder's life and legacy.
I was delighted to again spend time with Jow Ga's true living legend Grandmaster Chan Man Cheung and many other
Jow Ga sifu's and students form Hong Kong, China and USA.
Thanks to Chung Oi Chau Biu's Ho Sifus for hosting the event's dinner and welcoming me again at their kwoon.

The Australian Kung Fu & Wushu Ferderation held their Annual Tournament in Canberra, the nation's capital.
National Champions are selected for titles and international competition representation in categories of
Traditional Kung Fu, Wushu and Tai Chi.
Our Instructor Joshua Smith took the title for Traditional Kung Fu - best kung fu judged in each category : barehand,
double weapons, short weapons.
Titles for individual events were also awarded to John Callaghan, Ed Tillyer-Studwick and Scott Rennie across a
variety of Traditional Kung Fu categories.

The Australian Jow Ga Kung Fu Academy was invited by the City of Sydney again to join forces with Chinese Cultural
groups to Celebrate this great cultural event - parading from Sydney Town Hall down George St through Chinatown.
Despite the rain about 40 of our adult and kids Jow Ga students marched and performed kung fu along route through
streets packed with people out to celebrate this major event. The sound of Chinese drums was thick in the air as
many tens of thousands came out to celebrate the Year of the Pig.
